FLANDERS said it has installed a hybrid-electric control cabinet on a diesel-electric Komatsu 930E haul truck at the Belle Ayr mine. The company said the upgrade is intended to address obsolescence issues and modernize electric-drive controls.
FLANDERS said earlier this month that it installed a hybrid-electric control cabinet on a diesel-electric drive Komatsu 930E haul truck at the Belle Ayr mine. The truck is owned by coal mining company Eagle Summit Resources LLC.
The company described the installation as a “world’s first.” It said the cabinet is designed to address haul-truck obsolescence challenges by modernising electric-drive controls.
