MAN tests bidirectional charging for electric trucks in SPIRIT-E project
Researchers in the SPIRIT-E project tested bidirectional charging with a MAN eTGX, showing that an electric truck can feed energy back to depots, other vehicles and the public grid. The test points to possible energy cost savings for fleet operators.
The SPIRIT-E research project has demonstrated bidirectional charging for electric trucks. According to the source, a MAN eTGX was used in the tests.
Researchers tested charging and discharging at up to 350 kW. The system was shown to be able to supply energy to logistics depots, other vehicles and the public electricity grid.
The source says the results indicate potential energy cost savings for fleet operators.
