Sandvik discusses battery-electric underground development drilling

Sandvik Mining is aiming to shift the battery-electric dynamic in underground drilling, according to Johannes Välivaara, President, Underground Drilling. He said the focus should move from propulsion alone to also improving the drilling process itself.

The company said it has had at least one battery-electric development drill in its portfolio for a decade. The source does not give additional product details.
