BMW said it plans to launch an electric compact car based on the Neue Klasse platform in 2028. The model has not been officially named, though it is likely to be called the BMW i1.
At its Capital Market Day 2026, BMW Group said it plans to launch an electric compact car based on the Neue Klasse platform in 2028.
The company said the model is likely to be called the BMW i1. BMW also said it will unveil the all-electric iX4 later this year.
The announcement gives a further look at BMW’s product plan, but the compact model has not yet been officially revealed.
