Portsmouth International Port launches high-voltage shore power system
Portsmouth International Port has launched the UK’s first high-voltage, multi-berth shore power system, allowing docked ships to connect to grid power and switch off onboard generators. The system is intended to cut air pollution and fuel use from idling marine engines.
