IETT orders 50 AKIA Ultra LF12EV electric buses for Istanbul
IETT has placed an order for 50 AKIA Ultra LF12EV battery-electric buses for Istanbul. The deal also includes a new charging depot plan and is scheduled to support production and deliveries starting in 2027.
Turkish manufacturer AKIA says it won an IETT tender to supply 50 battery-electric buses to Istanbul. The buses are identified as AKIA Ultra LF12EV models.
According to the source, production and deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027. AKIA says the contract represents Turkey’s first large-scale electric bus fleet procurement.
The order was placed by IETT General Directorate, Istanbul Electric Tram and Tunnel. The source also says a new charging depot is planned.
